Mindfulness Matters

Here at Girl, unKnown encourage you to take a moment each day whenever you’re feeling stressed and re-center. Short and simple meditation sessions are a great way to get started.

Mindfulness – Establishing good mental health practices and regular mental health check-ups provides mental clarity and centering, helping members to free themselves of anxiety and depression.

Why Mindfulness Matters – Mindfulness is the ability to be able to be peacefully and fully present and aware of where we are and what we’re doing, without being overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.  It is maintaining an awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a peaceful quiet spirit.

Girl, unKnown Inc. Mindfulness Experience:

Individuals entering the Mindfulness track get a Mindfulness Jumpstart Journey Journal & Folder and consult with a Professional Mental Health Therapist Pillar Partner to set goals and intentions and to track progress.  At least one follow-up with therapist per member is required. Members can also opt to set up on-going services with Professional Pillar Partner, who will provide GU with progress reports as permitted by HIPPA statutes and privacy laws.

All of our members are encouraged to get mentors and mentees in their chosen track so they can act as support and accountability partners

Follow Through – Members are given access to the free and paid virtual and live mindfulness classes and meditation exercises to satisfy mindful minute requirements that can be logged in our app.  Members also get access to the videos, challenges, reading materials, calming meditation music and other content to help achieve their mindfulness goals.  Members are encouraged to get mentors and mentees in their chosen track so they can act as support and accountability partners.

This track continues until member has reached goal. Members get quarterly check-ins with health care professionals and a plan to maintain the achieved outcome that was agreed upon on initial visit. Once the goals are met, Members are given a certificate of completion to commemorate the achievements.  Weekly check-ins with support and accountability partners are encouraged and tracked in app.
